John and Kim Ostlund, Co-owners, are pleased to announce our retirement effective 12/31/2019. With our retirement, Shining Light Music of Lee’s Summit is acquiring all the inventory, assets, and lesson programs of Legacy Music, and will be moving everything to Shining Light Music’s location at 611 SW Third Street, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, effective 01/01/2020.
We founded Legacy Music in 1998 and focused our store on providing great customer service with an outstanding selection of guitars. Over these 21 years we have enjoyed a great relationship with many wonderful customers, employees, teachers and vendors. We will miss our day to day interaction with this wonderful group of people.
In planning for our retirement, we were looking for someone who would continue our legacy. We are excited that Shining Light Music will be taking over our role in the guitar and fretted instrument business.
Shining Light Music is a locally owned music store, specializing in retail sales of pianos, guitars, band instruments, orchestra instruments, printed music, music equipment, and accessories. SLM offers private music lessons and preschool classes. Repair services are provided for band, orchestra and string instruments. With the addition of the brands and guitar repair services Legacy Music currently offers, Shining Light Music will be one of the largest independent music stores in the Kansas City Metro area.
